Victorian man wins $800,000 for the price of a flat white

A ticket worth $3.60 proved invaluable for a Berwick man who won Division 1 in last weekend's Saturday Lotto. The prize - $845,849.21!

The winner told lottery representatives that he had bought a 4-game Standard ticket in Saturday Lotto every week for the past three years, but had only experienced a few small wins. After checking his inbox the day after the draw, he noticed an email with the subject "Winning Ticket!"

The man was in disbelief over the size of his winnings after checking his OzLotteries account online. "I scrolled down to the amount... and just kept staring. Couldn't believe it - blinking, opening and closing my eyes, pinching myself - the amount was astonishing!"

He ran to tell his wife, saying "Honey, I think we won the lottery!" She didn't believe it until she checked the email herself - and then she burst into tears. "It is unbelievable," exclaimed the happy winner. "Dreams do come true."

The couple both returned to work the next day, as they love their jobs and have no plans to retire early.
