1 min read

A man from Murwillumbah mistakenly put in a set of duplicate numbers on his Monday Lotto ticket. It has turned out to be the best of mistakes, with those numbers getting up, winning the player two lots of $500,000.

"I don’t know why I played the same numbers twice on this ticket, it must have been an oversight on my behalf,” laughed the winner, delighted by his good fortune.

“I just play random numbers, they have no significance, they just popped into my head,” the winner added.

The  man's $1 million worth division one prizes was achieved with a six game entry, costing just $2.70.

“I do know what I am going to do with my winnings; I will invest it to secure my future. But first I will have a little celebration, there will probably be a decent bottle of champagne involved,” the winner added.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Murwillumbah Newsagency, located at 68-70 Main Street, Murwillumbah.
