Retirement looks brighter for $2.7m Lotto winners

2 min read

A Central Coast man was enjoying a morning cuppa on his boat when he received a call from OzLotteries with the thrilling news he had won $2,734,238.43 in last weekend's Megadraw. The man, who was taking a short holiday trip with his wife, said he nearly fell off the boat when he realised he was one of eleven Division 1 winners sharing the $30 million jackpot.

The hard-working NSW couple have several businesses and were enjoying a rare holiday in a remote area. "We cannot leave the businesses for too long," said the shocked winner. "I've been transistioning to retirement, cutting work to one day a week. This win will make a lovely golden egg and will allow us to live very comfortably."

The winning couple play lotto online every week through OzLotteries' autoplay service, but have never won a prize of this magnitude before. "We won a school raffle once," the man laughed, "and we felt so proud then. We feel extremely lucky to have won lotto." The couple plan to invest the money "carefully and wisely"  to fund their retirement.

More stories are coming in of the other ten Division 1 winners across Australia, including two Victorian syndicates of 10 and 20 players each. There was an additional winner in Victoria, who is yet to be identified, plus four winners in New South Wales, three in Queensland, and one in Western Australia.

The winning numbers from Saturday Lotto Megadraw 3491 were 39, 21, 18, 35, 38 and 43, with supplementary numbers 13 and 27. Could you be Australia's next millionaire?
