Perth $2.1 million Lotto winners celebrate with bubbly and pastry
2 min read
A Perth couple from the Meadow Springs area of Perth have come forward and claimed their $2.2 million prize in the weekend's Saturday Lotto draw.
The couple celebrated the win with two meat pies and a bottle of champagne, after coming forward to claim their prize from the weekend's Superdraw.
"Just like the Lotterywest Superdraw television ad, we like the idea of getting into our pyjamas and enjoying two meat pies. We might get a bottle of bubbles too," the woman said.
The couple purchased their Slikpik 12 ticket from Meadow Springs Lottery Centre and Newsagency - putting their win down to being at the right place at the right time.
"A slight change of plans before buying our Slikpik ticket was all it took. A few minutes can make all the difference when buying that 'winning' ticket," the woman said.
The couple were surprised and shocked when learning of their multi-million dollar win.
"We just wanted to keep checking the ticket so we checked online, in the newspaper and even rang Lotterywest to confirm the six winning numbers. I remember feeling a bit ill too," she said.
After realising their dream of winning Lotto had become a reality, the couple said their number one priority was to help family members.
"But I also think I'll treat myself to a new dress," the woman said.
The other Perth $2.1 million winning ticket, via a ticket purchased at Kelmscott Newsagency, remains unclaimed.
