NSW syndicate lands $15,000,000 Oz Lotto jackpot

30 people are each half a million dollars richer after their syndicate scooped Division 1 in this week's $15 million Oz Lotto draw. The syndicate win is the second in New South Wales this week following an 18-share Division 1 win in last weekend's $21 million Superdraw.
One of the overjoyed winners wasted no time in contacting lottery officials after discovering he'd won over $500,000, claiming he was struggling to comprehend the gravity of the news.
"My heart is beating so fast!" he said, after checking his ticket before work on Wednesday morning. He mentioned how nice it was to imagine the other 29 syndicate shareholders sharing his excitement.
According to the happy winner's wife, the unexpected windfall will go towards paying off the mortage, and will "take the pressure off" the couple.
The winning System 11 ticket had shareholders from all over New South Wales and the ACT, including Canberra and Illawarra.
