NSW Pensioner Takes Half a Million in the Saturday Lotto

A western Sydney pensioner from the suburb of Dapto is half a million dollars richer after playing and winning Saturday Lotto.

The lady, in her late sixties, didn’t even know that her numbers had come up until a representative from the lotteries agency phoned her to tell her that she had won $484, 866.24 on the Monday following the Saturday Lotto draw that took place on August 6th, 2011.

“How much did you say? That is just unbelievable,” the winner exclaimed.

“I can’t believe this is happening, I normally check my tickets but I didn’t read the paper properly so haven’t got around to it, this is a complete shock,” the winner added.

The lucky pensioner bought her winning ticket from NewsXpress in Dapto Mall in NSW. She has been playing Saturday Lotto ever since it began, always using the same combination of numbers being the dates of her children’s birthdays as well as her wedding anniversary.

Having paid their mortgage off recently, this win will make life much more comfortable for the winner and her husband, she still can’t believe it has happened, saying, I’m going to make a cup of tea and sit down and let it sink in.”

The winning numbers for Saturday Lotto’s $4 million draw are 4, 43, 9, 39, 27 and 6 with the supplementary numbers 34 and 16.
