Dubbo - The Luckiest Lotto Town of The West

The western NSW ‘City of Smiles’ Dubbo may have seen its share of drought through the years, but when it comes to winning the lotto, it’s residents are experiencing a flood of wealth.

Dubbo is home to 40,000 people and 6 of those lucky Dubbo-ites have scooped up more than $8 million in the past 2 years.

In the southwest of Sydney, the green suburb of Narellan also fares well in the lucky lotto suburb stakes. The local Newspower store sold two winning tickets worth $3, 143,000 this year alone.

The manager of the newsagency, David Thomsen said that there were hoards of people flocking to his shop in the hopes that the luck of the shop will rub off on to them.

"People have been starting to believe that we've been a hotspot, so sales have risen," he added.

"You see that you get a bit of a purple patch every now and again."
