Millionaire's Row: $30 million to call Point Piper home

3 min read

If you've ever dreamed of living in the lap of luxury, this Tuesday's $30 million Oz Lotto jackpot could be your chance! Several $30 million plus properties in Point Piper, NSW have changed hands in the past six months - and the trend is likely to continue next year.

Point Piper, a tiny enclave of just eleven streets in Sydney's eastern suburbs, has been called Australia's most exclusive residential location. One of those streets, Wolseley Road, is currently ranked the 9th most expensive street in the world at $38,900 per square metre with a total property value of $720 million. With a population just under 1,500, the beachfront suburb is home to some of the most expensive homes in Australia.

In October, a hundred-year-old six bedroom mansion with exclusive beachfront access was reportedly sold for $30 million, while a Mediterranean-style manor set a sales record of $39 million for non-waterfront property in November. Other Point Piper properties sold in the last six months went for as much as $37 million.

Point Piper is home to many prominent Australians including former Liberal party leader Malcolm Turnbull, Westfield Group founder Frank Lowy, and Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond. In combination with nearby Darling Point, Edgecliff, and Rushcutters Bay, the suburb was named Australia's wealthiest in 2013 accoridng to the ATO.

While a $30 million home certainly brings its share of prestige, real estate might not be your cup of tea. Imagine all the ways you could celebrate this summer with $30,000,000 cash! How about a trip on the world's most expensive chartered yacht at USD$843,478 per week? You'd be sailing the seas in style enjoying marble baths, elevators and a 24-hour restaurant.

Closer to home, you could be enjoying a beachfront sojourn on beautiful Bedarra Island off the coast of Cairns, where guests can rent private villas for up to $2725 per night. If you're the jetsetting type, the penthouse suite of New York's Four Seasons hotel might be more appealing. For USD$30,000 per night you can take advantage of a 24-hour personal assistant and chauffeured Rolls-Royce - if you ever feel like leaving the roof-top apartment, that is.

For the revheads, a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 could be right up your alley. Despite a W16 engine that can reach speeds of 400km/h, the car is still deemed to be street legal - bonus! With a mere USD$1.7 million price tag, you'd have plenty left over for other toys. Like your own private Boeing 707, one of only 13 ever made - putting you in the same company as Hollywood star John Travolta, who purchased his luxury jet in 1998.

Whatever your wishlist this summer, you have multiple chances to win with next Tuesday's $30 million Oz Lotto jackpot and January 3rd's $30 million Megadraw. Official tickets are on sale now for both draws - buy yours online and never lose your ticket!
