Oz Lotto winner knocks off early with $5,000,000

It’s quitting time! A man from the Melbourne suburb of Keysborough was the sole Division 1 winner in this week’s Oz Lotto draw. After lottery officials contacted him on Wednesday to share the good news, the overwhelmed winner told his boss he was knocking off early.

“I just had to tell my boss that I’m going home!” said the new millionaire.

“I’m quite numb at the moment!” he said in shock, adding that his head was still spinning with the news of his multi-million dollar win. “I’ve been playing Oz Lotto for more years than I can remember.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his “unbelievable” winning 6-game Standard ticket from a local newsagency. He plans to use his prize money to get rid of his mortgage before paying for his daughter’s upcoming wedding.  

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1098 on Tuesday 3 March 2015 were 5, 26, 43, 31, 20, 23 and 19 plus supplementary numbers 21 and 35.
