Mystery Western Australian wins $7.5 million lotto prize

One lucky Oz Lotto player is $7.5 million richer after winning Division 1 last week - but they just don't know it yet. WA's newest millionaire has yet to make themselves known to lottery officials, who are urging players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

The winning ticket was sold at a local newsagent in Cloverdale, whose owner had a hunch that he was "going to sell a winning ticket" after players queued up on the day to purchase tickets in the $15 million draw. He said the latest win marked the 22nd Division 1 lotto ticket he had sold in the past 11 years.

The mystery winner is the 3rd Oz Lotto multi-millionaire in WA this year, following a $10 million winning ticket earlier this month and a $15 million ticket in April. Over 40,000 Western Australians won prizes in the latest Oz Lotto draw, with 5 locals now $25,859 richer thanks to Division 2 wins.
